Google rolls out AI Mode in Sweden

Google has now launched AI Mode in Swedish, as part of a global rollout covering 35 new languages and 40 new countries. In short, this means we in Sweden can now chat directly with AI inside Google Search, without needing to rely on external tools like ChatGPT or Perplexity.

What is AI Mode?

AI Mode is a new tab in Google Search where you can ask questions and get AI-generated answers that summarise, explain, and guide - rather than just serving you a list of links. Unlike Google’s AI Overviews, which display brief AI responses at the top of the search results, AI Mode offers a more interactive experience. It’s essentially a chat. Inside Google Search.

If you’re already chatting with tools like ChatGPT, this will feel familiar. And yes, for the uninitiated it’s a case of same same but different. The key difference? AI Mode is fully integrated into the search interface which means no need to jump between platforms.

This launch is yet another clear sign that the search landscape is shifting fundamentally. We’re moving from links and listings to AI-driven conversations and instant answers - all in one place.
